“They are the proof of something was there and no longer is.
Like a stain. And the stillness of them is boggling.
You can turn away but when you come back they'll still be there looking at you.”
-Diane Arbus
I have spent most of my professional life shooting motion pictures ranging from drama to documentary. My work has taken me from the Strait of Magellan to the many hearts of Africa. I began my vocation working with still photography and-after embarking on a career in the film/video industry-have always sustained a passion for the still photograph.
Most of my adult years were spent living in Europe. Since returning to Canada, my lens has been focused on my backyards, which are-for now-the cities of Vancouver and New Westminster.
Many of the pictures on this site are street photographs. Images shot quickly and selected from a fleeting reality. Others are somewhat more formal. I have also included a few photographs I shot while working for the W.H.O while on assignment in Tanzania.
At times I will post photographs that have nothing to do with Vancouver or New Westminster. Pictures that I like and hope will provoke interest.
